Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has paid tribute to his late Chief of Staff, Chief Ukpai Agwu, with a promise to construct a road in Ohafia in honour of the deceased.
Ikpeazu made the promise at Asaga Ohafia on Saturday at Asaga Ohafia during the funeral service of the late Ukpai Agwu, conducted by Presbyterian Church of Nigeria.
Ikpeazu who recalled the special contributions of the former Deputy Chief of Staff to his administration, also urged the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria in Asaga Ohafia to submit to his government, the list of ongoing projects embarked upon by the late Agwu for completion.
He equally promised that the road leading to the country home of Chief Agwu would be constructed, while charging Abians to uphold the legacy of the late political stalwart.
In his message, Most Rev. Ekpeyong Akpanika of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria admonished Christians to repent and live godly life.
The burial ceremony attracted dignitaries from the State including the Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, former President of the Senate, Chief Adolphus Wabara, Senate Minority leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, Hon. Uko Nkole among others.
