Ikpeazu sacks LG scribes ahead of polls

It was a day of shock for Secretaries to the 17 local government areas of Abia State as Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on Wednesday ordered their immediate dissolution.

The Governor in a statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Dr Anthony Agbazuere also announced the replacement of the removed secretaries ,with the development bringing shock to the removed secretaries as most of them had hoped to be on seat up to till elected Chairmen of councils are sworn-in, according to a source.

The new appointment as obtained by journalists is dominated by women as 15 slots went to women while only two men made the list.

The new secretaries are as follows Mrs Catherine Erondu–Aba North, Mrs Mrs Chinedum Ndimele–Abia South, Mrs Chioma Orji Laura—Arochukwu, Mrs Nnenna Igwe –Bende, Mrs Gloria Anyacho–Ikwuano and Mrs Ijeoma Nwankwo— Isiala Ngwa North.

Others are Akudo Ibe–Isiala Ngwa South, Ezinne Edith Sunday–Isuikwuato, Mrs Oluchi Ahukanna–Obingwa, Mrs Elizabeth Nkaku—Ohafia and Mrs Nnebuihe Nnamdi—Osisioma Ngwa.

The rest of the LG secretaries are Mrs Joy Nwakire—Ugwunagbo, Mrs Doreen Kakachi Nna–Ukwa East, Mrs Ngozi Ogidi—Ukwa West, Mrs Comfort Chijiago—Umuahia North.

The only men that made the list are Mr Ugochukwu Uchenna for Umuahia South and Mr Onwuka Uchenna for Umunneochi LGAs.
Their appointment came with immediate effect, according to the release.
