Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has approved the immediate dissolution of Hospital Management Board (HMB).

In a statement signed by Barr Chris Ezem, the Secretary to the State government, the Governor directed the immediate reconstitution of a new Hospital Management Board executive.

The new board has Dr Alison Obinna as its Chief Executive while Barr Ama Eme is the Board Chairman Other members appointed by Ikpeazu are Prince Ekwenye Nwanju, Ikechi Edwin Ogbonna, Mr M. O Ndukwe and Mrs Joy Izuogu.

The new board executives and members, according to the government statement, have been directed by the Governor to ensure immediate commencement of biometric verification of all staff.

Abia HMB have experienced incessant strike, protests and other forms of industrial crises by workers of the health establishment ranging from unpaid salaries, unpaid allowances and other emoluments.
