Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State on Saturday, dissolved his cabinet, directing all former commissioners to hand over to the permanent secretaries of their respective ministries.
Three commissioners, John Okiyi Kalu of Ministry of Information, Dr Joe Osuji of Health and Chief Uche Ihediwa, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for justice, however, survived the sack as they retained their jobs.
Also, the Secretary to the Abia State Government (SSG), Barr Chris Ezem also was not affected by the dissolution as he and the three commissioners were asked to continue their duties.
The Governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Barr Onyebuchi Ememanka said the dissolution was with immediate effect while, while thanking the firmer commissioners for their service to the State and contribution to his administration.
Equally, the suspended Chief of Staff to Governor Ikpeazu, Dr Anthony Agbazuere regained his job as the Governor recalled him to duty.
The statement from Ememanka also said the Chief of Staff’s return to duty was with immediate effect.
An earlier statement from the governor Ememanka had stated that the dissolution of cabinet affected every member of the executive body, but three hours later, three commissioners, John Okiyi Kalu of information ministry, Joe Osuji of Health and Uche Ihediwa , Attorney-general/Justice were told to continue in office as the dissolution did not affect them.
