The Chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu and Chairman, Proprietors of Private Universities in Nigeria, Prof. Gregory Ibe has congratulated the newly elected chairman of the Abia state chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),Victor Ndukwe with a call to ensure professionalism.
Prof Gregory Ibe who praised members of Abia state NUJ for a successful election said that ‘having followed with keen interest the processes leading to the just concluded election of the Abia chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), we congratulate you on your emergence as chairman.’
He also said that, ‘considering the role of media in the overall development of our society, the challenges and expectations of the masses, especially from NUJ, one would not but say that the task before you is daunting.’ ‘However, given your pedigree and professional background, I believe you will deliver and take Abia NUJ to the next level.’ He said.
Ibe having partnered with NUJ in the past in organising many programmes, including the South East Media Summit, said that ‘he commit to the task of exploring more avenues of cementing the already existing mutually beneficial relationship.’
