A middle aged man, Michael Nwachukwu, an indigene of Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, has narrated how God used Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, to save his life.
Nwachukwu is the Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on National Assembly Matters and Ecological Projects.
Michael narrated his story when he came in company of his two sisters; Nwachukwu Patience and Nwachukwu Theresa, to the office of Hon. Austin Nwachukwu at Imo State Government House, on a thank you visit.
He said he was in September 2019, diagnosed of a cancerous disease known as “Follicle Luphemia” at the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba.
He stated that efforts to raise money for medical treatment failed until they met Hon. Nwachukwu.
“I am short of words because I had a life threatening challenge. It started gradually, but at the peak of the whole thing, I became unconscious and was rushed to hospital. My Sisters ran helter skelter, looking for help and all the people we knew could not help until my sister got in touch with Hon. Austin Nwachukwu.
“Immediately he stepped in, the whole story changed. He mobilized all the resources (over N1 million) the hospital required to give their best medical expertise. The result is that I am alive today in the land of the living after undergoing surgery to remove the cancerous tumour and other life threatening tissues in my body”, he submitted.
His two sisters who corroborated him, were full of praises for the former House of Representatives member for saving the life of their only brother, praying God to continue to protect him and grant him success in all his life endeavours.
Responding, Hon. Nwachukwu praised God for using him to save the life of the young man.
He said the plight of Michael was brought to his attention, through an online post of one of his sisters and he was moved in spirit to offer a helping hand.
He pointed out that rendering helping hands has always been one of his hobbies and promised to continue in that direction.
Nwachukwu urged well-to-do members to always help whenever they encounter people who are in such serious need in order to make the society better.
He said the gesture was in tandem with the 3R Agenda of Governor Hope Uzodimma led administration, which he noted is not only interested in rehabilitating roads, but also human beings.
Nwachukwu also thanked one of his friends, Silvester Uwhubetiyi for his contribution to a successful surgey of Michael.
