The Owerri Catholic Archdiocese has been commended for recognizing and rewarding priests who have worked hard in God’s vineyard.

State deputy governor, Prof. Placid Njoku gave the commendation when he represented the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma at the Monsignor Investiture of six priests held at Maria Assumpta Cathedral Owerri, weekend.

Njoku noted that many Catholic priests are doing excellent works in their different parishes, especially in the moral upbringing of youths and urged them to sustain the tempo.

He congratulated the new monsignors, stressing that their elevation was a confirmation that there is reward for hard work, just as he thanked Archbishop Anthony Obinna and the Catholic Pontiff for investing six out of over 400 priests as monsignors.

Among the six priests elevated to the position of monsignors is the Government House Chaplain, Ralph Madu.
