The newly posted Commissioner of Police to Ebonyi State, CP. Aliyu Garba’ has officially assumed duty in the state.
Garba who hails from Kontagora L G A, Niger State has promised to reposition the security architecture of the state for robust policing.
Addressing Newsmen after taking over from CP Philip Maku, who was redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, Garba called on the people to trust and have confidence in the Police as they support the police by giving useful information that will lead to security of the state.
He noted that security challenges is a serious problem in Nigeria which Ebonyi is not an exception
“it is an obvious fact that within the knowledge of everyone that security challenges is a serious problem in Nigeria today and Ebonyi state is not an exception to this fact.
“However, it is my desire to unveil and execute certain action plans that will make us to achieve robust policing in the state and I assure my officers and men, media practitioners, stakeholders, and members of the public that with your maximum cooperation
“We will collectively win the battle of fight against all forms of crimes and criminalities in this state and by extension Nigeria at large.
Garba who appreciated the Inspector General of police, IGP Mohammed A.Adamu, for finding him worthy among numerous Commissioners of Police expressed optimistic that Police will continue to enjoy every necessary logistics and encouragement by Governor David Umahi in the state.
“l’ve no doubt of his Excellency’s doggedness and uncompromising attitudes towards employing all necessary and legally means to secure lives and properties of the inhabitants of the state”.
”The commissioner also pledged to form Anti drugs clubs under office of the PPRO.
Before his deployment to Ebonyi State, Garba was the Deputy Commissioner of Police Welfare, Department of Finance and Administration, Force Headquarters, Abuja, DCP Research and Planning Force Headquarters, Abuja, the Deputy Commissioner of Police zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos. Assistant Commissioner of Police in-charge Area Command Headquarters Railway Ibadan, The Area Commander Bori River State, The Area Commander Port-Harcourt.
He was also the Assistant Commissioner in Agodi Area Command Headquarters Oyo State, 2i/c State CID Bauchi State Command. He was the Divisional Police Officer Okrika, Diobu, special Area, Bonny Island and many other Police Divisions in River State Command.
He holds Master of Arts in International law and Diplomacy from the University of Science and Technology, Port-Harcourt River State and a graduate of the prestigious University of Sokoto with bachelor of Arts in History.
