The Petroleum Product Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria, said that there are indications that Rivers State may soon be experiencing fuel scarcity as seen in some states in the country.
Rivers State Chairman, PETROAN, Francis Dimkpa, in an interview with journalists said they have been experiencing pressure of fuel supply since this week.
Dimkpa however noted that stakeholders in the petroleum sector at the Federal level have promised to do everything possible to ensure supply of petrol to fuel stations.
Nigerians living in Lagos, Benue States and Abuja had been experiencing the resurgence of long queues at filling stations as a result of fuel scarcity in the country.The situation has been blamed on methanol contaminated petrol which was imported into the country.
The federal government has however said it has brought in more products to avoid scarcity, while investigation into how the contaminated petrol came into the country has been promised.
