The clarion call by Governor Willie Obiano to Anambra people to invest at home is beginning to yield positive result as the people of Azia community in Ihiala local Government area of the state, are savouring the benevolence of one of their own, Chief Paul Orajiaka.
News Echo gathered that the people were filled with gratitude as they received health care services free of charge.
The event took place at the Azia Civic Centre, on Sunday.
Speaking to journalists, shortly after the exercise, the sponsor, Chief Paul Orajiaka, said the outreach was for the benefit of the people of Anambra South Senatorial Zone.
He noted that the foundation is aimed at giving the people a new lease of life, healthwise, adding that most of the challenges facing the people include getting health care services at the primary level.
Orajiaka added that it is important that people at the grassroots get free medical consultation and medication for all their ailments as they need to be healthy and live a good life, intimating that the same free medical treatment will be replicated in Anambra North and Anambra Central Senatorial Zones respectively.
On his part, the leader of the medical team, Dr. Fola David from Lagos State, said that the free medical outreach is for everybody irrespective of their age, adding that they were focusing on checking on vital signs and called on the beneficiaries to adhere strictly to doctor’s prescription for better result.
The President-General Azia General Assembly, Dr. Tonna Nwabueze, on his part, commended the sponsor of the free medical outreach and called on affluent individuals in the society to emulate Orajiaka’s magnanimity.
The beneficiaries in their separate speeches, expressed gratitude and prayed God to bless the benefactor.
