Officials of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing have commenced a five-day inspection of projects being executed by the ministry in communities across Imo State.

Addressing stakeholders in Owerri on Monday, the leader of the team, Barr. P.O. Osondu, said communities most times, do not know that certain projects within their areas were executed by the federal government to improve their welfare, hence the sensitization.

He added that the tour was also aimed at letting the communities see the need to take ownership of the projects in their domain and protect them.

Osondu noted that the team had list of 23 projects in the first phase of the exercise and informed that the second phase will come up in the first quarter of 2021, adding that the exercise will henceforth, be a quarterly one.

In his address, the Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on Housing, Barr. Austin Nnawuihe, expressed gratitude to the federal government for such projects.

Nnawuihe, who represented the state Commissioner for Housing, Lady Love Ineh, pledged the support of the state government for the success of the exercise.
