No fewer than six persons escaped death in a road accident involving three vehicles in Onitsha
The multiple crash which occurred beside motorcraft filling station by federal housing 3-3 in Onitsha North Local Government Area of the State involved three vehicles – a Toyota Camry Spider with registration numbers MMA 839 AC, AR 376, Toyota car with No. AWK Mark 2 and a Lexus Jeep 330 with Reg. No. ENU 956 KW.
Speaking to newsmen, an eye witness, Chikeze Nwakama, who is a Red Cross official at Federal Housing Estate, said that the black Camry Spider heading to 3-3 junction was on a high speed when it veered off the road and collided head-on with the incoming vehicle heading towards Onitsha
He added in that the accident six persons including children who were in a Mark 2 Toyota car going to Onitsha from church service sustained various degrees of injuries.
The collision also affected a Lexus 330 car, while the driver, identified as Bar. Amakaeze, miraculously escaped unhurt.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospital in Onitsha for medical treatment by sympathizers before the arrival of police officers and FRSC officers to the scene
Federal Road Safety Corps sector Commander in the State, Andrew A. Kumapayi, when contacted said that men have gone to the scene to rescue the victim.
He advised drivers to adhere to recommended speed limits and also to be careful when overtaking other vehicles on the road.
