Eze Ohiri promises to reopen arts centre

A courtesy call led by the commissioner of tourism , creative arts and culture, Barr. Mrs Doris Akubue and the special adviser, Hon. Chief Odionyema Agugbue recently to His Royal Majesty Eze Agunwa Samuel Ohiri ( Obi 1 of Obi Orodo) Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State has compelled the Imo State traditional rulers boss to promise reopening the creative arts centre.

It was an unprecedented large crowd, including that of the ministry of culture and tourism enthusiastically to Eze Imo home town in Orodo Mbaitoli.

Barrister Akubue, explained the reason of the visitation. She asked for the reopening of the office of the creative arts at Mbari Street for the benefit of the ministry and promise to follow the instructions given to them.

She maintained that as the new commissioner of the ministry, she could not do anything without acknowledging the traditional ruler and his blessings.

The special adviser to the governor on culture and tourism, Hon. Chief Odionyema Agugbue, commended and congratulated Eze Ohiri on the giant strides his administration has recorded so far in reviving of Imo’s cultural heritage in the state.

He commended Eze Imo for his patriotic work, adding that prosperity government has come to work even requesting for accommodation for the office. He stressed the importance of culture a part of which is growing Igbo language which he said “was almost dead dead”.

On his part, Eze Ohiri stated with great delight that he welcomed all of the ministry and quintessential commissioner of the ministry, Barr. Mrs Akubue to his house. He promised them to re-open the creative arts office which belonged to the traditional rulers in the state and also stated his reasons he locked the place.
