Entrepreneur, philanthropist and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Eric Opah has revealed that he is in the PDP gubernatorial race to win and will not step down for anyone despite the pressure.
Eric Opah who is the founder of Fortune Global Shipping & Logistics Limited and Fortune Marine & Energy Services Limited, posited in a press release signed by his media aide that the PDP needs someone who has proven track record, capacity, integrity and vast network to be the candidate of the party. And based on these qualities, Opah is the right man for the job now.
Opah, who currently serves as the Chairman Nigeria-America Chamber of Commerce, Abia State Chapter, is equally an Associate Member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria (IODN), the Founder of Eric Opah Foundation, the President Umunna-Nsulu Progressive Forum, and the President of Mbubo Transformation Group.
He went further to reveal that he has consulted widely, with chieftains of the party acknowledging that he is in the right position both in character and capacity to pick the governorship ticket of the PDP in Abia State after the painful demise of Professor Uchenne Ikonne.
“After proper consultation, the governor himself agreed with me and facilitated my picking the PDP gubernatorial form, so I see no reason why I will be stepping down for anyone” he stated.
He maintained that he is in the race to win and will win.
Opah called on all PDP faithfuls in Abia State to rally around him, support him so that PDP will have the best candidate to fly their flag and win the 2023 governorship election in Abia State.
In the press release, Eric Opah assured Abians that he will amplify what Abia is known for as God’s own State by making sure that truth prevails both in private and public affairs of the State. He will promote a state where citizens will trust each other and seek for the good of one another.
He went further to state that he will pursue vigorously a state where her resources will be used for the good all, where no community in Abia State will be left behind, where human capacity development will be paramount, accountability core mandate and where visitors will be proud to visit and visit again.
“In short, a peaceful Abia will emerge by my nomination and eventual election” Opah concludes.
