Protesters in Anambra have asked the state government to convert the Awkuzu SARS office to a state museum where pictures of those allegedly murdered by the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in various locations in the state will be displayed.

In a statement made available through the online media by Chima Christian in Onitsha on Sunday, October 18, he displayed some of the protesters who were carrying placards with inscriptions such as “We want Awkuzu SARS turned into a museum.

“When all is said and done, that building that housed Awkuzu SARS will not remain a police station. We urge our government to turn it around and erect a memorial in its place. It will be in honour of the hundreds, if not thousands of innocent souls that were “wasted”.

“Our next level demands in Anambra include that Awkuzu SARS building be handed over to us, so we can turn it into a museum and a memorabilia”

The statement further reads in parts, “We appreciate the efforts of the government of Anambra State and implore her to immediately initiate protocols to provide an alternate facility for the police formation/unit currently occupying that ‘now’ hallowed chamber”.
