The Chairman of Nigerian Union Journalists, Abia State Chapter, Comrade John Emejor has been appointed as a member of the Panel of Enquiry set up by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to probe extra-judicial killings and other brutalities by security agents in the State.
The Panel , headed by astute Jurist and former Chief Judge of Abia, Justice Sunday Imo as Chairman, has the a Permanent Secretary from Abia State Ministry of Justice as the Secretary.
Other members appointed by Governor include Comrade John Emejor, Chairman of Nigerian Union of Journalists, Abia State, Eric Ikwuagu, Ariwa Zubi, Daniel Chinagozi and Comrade Nnanna Nwafor.
Others are Methodist Church Bishop /Founder of Vision Africa Radio station, Umuahia, Bishop Sunday Onuoha , Mrs Doris Ogala and John Nwakanma.
The Committee which is to investigate all extra-judicial killings and brutalities committed by security agents against Abians and advise the State government on the steps to take.
The Committee , according to Chief John Okiyi Kalu, Abia State Commissioner for Information t is to be inaugurated on Friday, 23 October in Government House, Umuahia by 1:Pm.
