Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) has fixed 7th December as date for the commencement of primary election for the Local Government poll slated for 6th March, 2021.

In a meeting with leaders of registered political parties and stakeholders, the commission’s chairman, Barr. Mike Ogbogu, said deadline for the primary elections is 31th December, 2020.

He declared that campaigns can commence immediately and assured of a credible poll.

Ogbogu also revealed the creation of 34 wards to the existing 466 wards across the 25 local government areas in the state.

In his remarks, Chairman of Inter- Party Advisory Council ( IPAC), urged the commission to involve the council in ensuring the sensitization of the public against any form of electoral violence

“As an unbiased empire, we need a free and fair election this time” he asserted.
