Imo State task force on Covid-19 has been directed to promptly arrest and try in the Mobile Court those caught without facemasks across the state, handing down penalties of one year imprisonment or N20,000 fine to all defaulters forthwith.
The commissioner for information and strategy, Declan Emelumba disclosed this to government house media crew as part of the resolution of the state executive council meeting held on Wednesday, January 13.

Other resolution’s of the council according to the commissioner said all forms of revenue agencies and collectors remain abolished, warning that any person caught still parading as the state revenue agent will attract serious sanctions from the government. He said the action was part of attempt to stamp out all such illegal activities.

All private and public schools remain closed, pending any new development, warning that proprietors who reopen their schools against the directive will have the schools permanently shut down.
Council further expressed delight over the remarkable improvements on the roads within and outside Owerri capital city, as against the state of roads a year ago and applauded the conscious efforts by government to revamp over 15 roads.
Council noted that the Shared Prosperity administration clocks one year in office on January 15, and hence will be celebrating the extraordinary milestones recorded by the administration.
