Constituents pass vote  of confidence in  Anambra Lawmaker

Ndiowu Community in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Thursday, passed a vote of confidence on the lawmaker representing Orumba North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Emeka Aforka.

The umbrella body of top community leaders, Church leaders, Market leaders, non-indigene residents in the community and Youths numbering about 700 also frowned at allegations of embezzlement levelled against their Lawmaker by some selected Elders in the community during their solidarity march to the State Assembly premises in Awka.

The Caretaker Chairman of Ndiowu Community, Mr. Abednego Okoli, said they are giving the lawmaker a resounding voice vote of confidence because of his quality representation.

Some faction of Elders led by the community Youth leader, Mr. Obiora Mgbemene as News Echo gathered, in the community last week staged a protest at State Government House Awka, where they accused the Lawmaker of causing division in the community leadership and embezzlement of funds belonging to the community.

While addressing journalists shortly after the Solidarity march, Okoli noted that the lawmaker has done well in adhering to the cardinal principle of effective representation, which includes; attraction of World bank Assisted projects to Ndiowu community, making available 24 hours electricity supply to the community, enlisting Ndiowu indigent farmers into Anambra/AFD projects and for stopping the planned third term agenda of the former leadership of the community, Among other democratically Achievements of Mr. Aforka.
Okoli said the people of Ndiowu are satisfied with the manner and style of legislation of Hon. Aforka, thereby passing a unanimous vote of confidence on him.

He said, “We are also here to inform the Lawmaker that we are not part of those planing the downfall of the Lawmaker who is also the Deputy Majority Leader of the state House.
“So I am hereby implore all indigenes of Ndiowu and indeed the general public to avoid any form of distraction which will affect our community in the state.

He called on all concerned to support Governor Willie Obiano, in his devoted service toward the continued delivery of democratic dividends to Ndi-Anambra.

In their separate responses, the Speaker of the House, Honourable Uche Okafor and the affected Lawmaker, Honourable Emeka Aforka, thanked the people for their courage in expressing their pains and for appreciating the present administration of Willie Obiano, especially on road construction and rehabilitation and security. They advised them to go back home and create a platform for peace to reign in the community.
