Commissioner for Works, Imo State, Ralph Nwosu, has assured that the state government will leave a long lasting legacy on Imo roads.
Nwosu made the remark while addressing leaders of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Imo State chapter who called on him in his office.
He stated that the Hope Uzodimma administration believes in thorough jobs, whereby the state will be transformed for the better, pointing out that the root problems of roads under construction are being tackled head-on, as to ensure long life span of the roads.
Nwosu added that construction of solid roads, without compromising standard saves costs which can also be invested in other areas.
He assured Imolites of more roads construction and better days ahead.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of NIPR in the state, Comrade Loveth Ekwemalo, commended the commissioner for the giant strides in recovering Imo roads which suffered years of neglect during the past administration.
Ekwemalor stated that visible improvement has been made on Imo roads under the present administration, with the level and standard of on-going road construction and rehabilitation projects in the state
She made particular reference to Relief Market road, MCC Road, Awo Omamma – Okwudor road, Chukwuma Nwaoha Road and others, adding that the recent flag – off of construction of roads in the state, including, Owerri – Orlu and Owerri -Okigwe roads, are a big plus to the present administration.
She commended the commissioner for running open-door policy and assured of the support of NIPR for the state government.
