The traditional prime minister (Onowu) of Achalla kingdom and member Anambra state House of Assembly representing Awka North Constituency, Hon John Nwokoye has called for proper inclusiveness of the people needs and general well being from the state government.
Hon Nwokoye made the call during the media chat with social influencers in Awka north, held in Awka during the weekend
According to traditional minister, “It is important to bring to your notice my achievement during these three years of service to my people. It also gives you the insight for appraisal on such developments”.
Hon Nwokoye urged those who criticize the representatives to use the opportunities to bring out motions that will be brought up in the house of Assembly.
He bemoaned the lackadaisical attitude of some stakeholders from Anambra north who have failed to pick ticket for the federal House of Reps.
He however that called state government to come to aid in terms of road rehabilitation and construction, pointing out that a road walk was organised to demonstrate how unhappy the people of Awka north are.
Sir Dennis Ekemezie (PhD) speaking at the key note address, with the theme; the Dynamic of Legislative Craftmanshio: An Insight into service delivery of Hon John Nwaokoye said the event was aimed at offering the people the opportunity to analyse his responsibilities, duties and functions on the people of Awka North.
Highlighting Hon Nwaokoye’s giant strides and achievements such as one year medical facilities provided to bot less than one hundred beneficiaries including registration into Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme (ASHIA), Patnership with Joint ECDTP – TDR World Bank in Awka north on eradication of schistomiasis among children, creation of jobs opportunities, empowerment of ten youths in educations. Construction of 40 open chops in Ebenebe, twenty chops in Urum, facilitated enrolment of twelve indigenes of Awka north into Nigerian Police force, among others.
According to Dr Ekemezie, the next legislature period in 2022/3 will usher in most opportunities to Ndi-Awka for a better standard of living. While calling for all hands to be on deck to deliver more goodies to the people.
Also speaking, Chairman Nigerian Union of Journalist, Anambra state Chapter, commended the efforts of Hon Nwaokoye, while noting that he will render possible services needed in ensuring that the people of Awka North is well represented at the state level.
Questions and answer sessions on the way forward towards development as well as unveiling of Hon John Nwaokoye’s score card formed the high point of the event.
