Unidentified attackers have set fire to the Imo Police Command, blew open the state correctional facility at midnight releasing some inmates.
Residents of Imo state woke up early morning Monday, having relished the Easter Sunday to behold flames of fire pillowing from the police command with several vehicles burnt to ashes.
An eyewitnesses said the attackers attacked the prison and police department shortly after midnight, freeing an unconfirmed number of inmates and suspects.
Efforts made to speak to the spokepersons of both commands were yet to yield results as at press time.
