The All Progressives Congress (APC), Owerri Senatorial Zone, Sunday inaugurated a Central Planning Committee saddled with the mandate of organizing a heroic reception for Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma and his deputy, Prof Placid Njoku.
Inaugurating the committee at Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri, the APC Owerri zone apex leader, Prince Lemmy Akakem, charged members to work hard to have a wonderful welcome for the governor and his deputy.
Akakem intoned that the two politicians are great minds, whom he said have achieved goodies for the state, especially on payment of salaries, donation of coaster vehicles to civil servants, road construction.
“Owerri Zone APC has every reason to eulogize the governor and his deputy. They are responsive. Owerri Zone has the spirit of recognizing excellence”, the party chieftain remarked.
Adding his voice, secretary, Owerri Zone APC and Commissioner for Environment and Petroleum, Dr Ikechukwu Njoku, said Uzodimma and Njoku have done Owerri zone proud by donating ambulances to the zone and appointing their sons and daughters into key positions in their government, among other achievements.
Njoku maintained that the leaders and the committee shall make Owerri Zone proud through the heroic reception.
According to him, “Imo people will always appreciate His Excellencies for towing good governance. We are indeed grateful to them”.
Making an acceptance speech, the central planning committee chairman, Prince Charles Amadi (Chavon), assured the zone of organizing a perfect, warm and enticing reception for the great Imo sons, saying the event will not be an avenue to make money.
Chavon noted that they have a good team, who will organize a wonderful reception that Imo citizens will appreciate and commend.
