Crisis seems to engulf the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owerri Zone over 2023 general election as leaders of the party at the zone are said to be divided over elective positions.
The APC Owerri Zonal Stakeholders/Strategic Meeting which was held on last week at the party’s secretariat Owerri ended in commotion as Speaker emeritus, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Godfrey Dikeocha, rose, handled the microphone and advised the party in Owerri Zone to sit up and discard injustice and division if the party must win the 2023 election at the zone.
Dikeocha made the comment in respect of perceived injustice going on in the party at the zone, regretting that some people are allegedly working to hijack the party’s structure to favour their individual interests or supporters.
Dikeocha was emphatic that “if APC does not sit up it may lose election at Owerri Zone in 2023. This is time to correct injustice looming within to destabilize the APC”.
Reacting to the former Speaker’s comment, the Imo State APC Chairman, Hon. Macdonald Ebere, shouted “Holy Ghost Fire” to discredit the comment.
The commotion brought the strategic Owerri Zonal APC Meeting to an abrupt end with other party faithful expressing dissatisfaction and displeasure over the uproar.
