Transition Committee Chairman of Onitsha North Local Government Council, Hon. Onochie Ozoma has inaugurated ASWAMA Teams in the council area.
Speaking with the Seventy-five (75) members of ASWAMA teams drawn from the Fifteen Wards in the area at the council headqauters,Onitsha North local government, he enjoined them to work in tandem with the clear vision of the state governor, Pro.Chukwuma Soludo by working hard to make sure that the gutters and water channels were cleaned up.
He stated that their main duties were to go round the various council wards with tipper to collect refuse and waste materials and deposit them at the final destinations.
Continuing, Hon.Ozoma reiterated that the state governor,Pro.Chukwuma Soludo has much expectation that the people of Onitsha North local government, housing the Main Market, which is the biggest market in West Africa will not renege in the environmental cleanliness.
In addition, the Council boss charged the ASWAMA Teams to ensure adequate traffic decongestion in all the roads in the council area to enhance free flow of human and vehicular movement.
In a vote of thanks, the head of the environmental department Mr.Ndiwe Mofunanya thanked the council Chairman for his dogged effort to see that no stone was left unturn to achieve the governor’s objective of ensuring envirnmental cleanliness in Anambra State, assuring him of their maximum support.
