The standard flag bearer of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 6th governorship election in Anambra Prof. Charles Soludo has picked a running in the person of Dr. Onyeka Ibezim.
Ibezim is a Medical Doctor by training and hold multiple positions in the Anambra State Government which were, Managing Director Anambra State Oxygen Production Plant, Chairman Anambra State Action Committee on HIV/AIDS and Special Adviser to the Governor on Traditional Medicine.
Ibezim is coincidentally the younger brother of Rt. Rev. Alexander Ibezim who doubles as the Archbishop Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka diocese of the Anglican Communion.
This Selection is in the bid of the party obeying a rotation formula of key positions in the state because the governorship candidate is from Anambra South and the speaker of the House of Assembly is from Anambra North so it was wise to zone the deputy governorship to Anambra Central.
Meanwhile members of United Anambra Youth Assembly, (U-AYA) & United Anambra Women Assembly, (U-AWA) have congratulated Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim on his nomination to deputize the former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) come 6th November.
In a statement issued in Awka on behalf of the Founder/National President of the Association, Hon. Chief Benjamin C. Obidigwe the group described the decision by the party as best for APGA, adding that the combination of Soludo-Ibezim, shall not only guarantee victory for the party, but will also enhance an all inclusive governance and democratic sustainability in Anambra state.
The group however eulogised the leadership of APGA under the national championship of Dr. Victor Oye and Chief Dr. Sir Willie M. Obiano, the leader of the party and chairman board of trustees members, for their efforts towards making APGA, one of the most effective and grassroot oriented political parties in Nigeria, that has the interest of the people at heart.
