There was euphoria of glamour on Wednesday, October 14, as twelve serving corps members were celebrated by the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Anambra state for meeting their life partners during their service year in the state.

Speaking during the epoch making event, state coordinator, NYSC, Mr. Kehinde Aremu stated that the event was unique, because such marriages had not happened in the history of the NYSC scheme.

He ascribed the success story to the conducive environment and the friendly disposition of Anambra indigenes and the state government.

Mr Kehinde however tasked the celebrants to reciprocate this act of blessing by investing in the state.
He said, “We thank Governor Willie Obiano for creating a conducive environment and his commitment towards welfare of Corps members in the state.

“This success story doesn’t end with service year. Anambra is conducive for everything. If the environment was unfriendly, this couldn’t have been possible. You’ve invested emotions, but invest money in developing the state.”

Assistant Director, Corps Welfare and Health Services, Mrs Ify Nwafor, said; “Marriage as a journey can be both fun and hell. You came, you served and married. I pray for you all to have a joyful and loving married life.

The couples, all of 2019 Batch ‘C’ set, including some redeployed to the state, expressed happiness for finding their missing ribs during their orientation camp or documentation, before the commencement of their primary assignments at their different organisations in the state.

One of the couples, Onyema Nwachoko said he met his wife while she was praying at the family house of the Christian Corpers fellowship, thanking both God and the government for creating the NYSC platform.

The couples gave their names as Oluchukwu Davis and Ahedo Etiosa, Bernard Faith Amarachi and Okafor Chukwudi, Henry Nwachoko and Charles Ruth,

Others are; Nsofor Obianuju and Ohale Nkemakolam, Ogburie Collins and Nwokearu Chinyeremaka, Eze Obinna and Oluchi Peace.
