Pastor of Rhema Deliverance Mission, Awka, Dr Amaechi Nwachukwu has called on journalists to show love to everyone, including their enemies.

The pastor said showing love was the best way to attract love, and doing it to ones enemies can be a way to attract their love too. Nwachukwu stated this during the Sunday Service, when members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra State council held thanksgiving in the church to commemorate the completion of the press week.

Speaking on the topic; where is your hope, Amaechi said these days, the economic condition of the country has made it difficult for people to help, but said that people must still see reasons to help.

“God commanded us and said love your neighbor as you love yourself, but I say to you, love even your enemies, because you can disarm them or win them over through the love that you show to them.

“So, even with the severity of the economy, you must help. Help everyone that you can, it is part of showing love. Even when you don’t have, the least you have can still be given to someone who has not. “The Lord said – I was naked and you clothed me, when I was hungry you gave me food to eat. Many will be wondering how they clothed Christ, but he said to us, whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me. “It is natural to love those who love you, but you can try loving your enemies and see how much love they will show back to you,” Nwachukwu preached. Chairman of Anambra State council of NUJ, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu who led the journalists in thanksgiving over the conclusion of the press week, expressed happiness over the receptive nature of members of Rhema Church, while also applauding the depth of knowledge of the pastor, his simplicity and commitment to humanity.

Odogwu also expressed happiness about Nwachukwu’s disposition to helping others, saying that he will be an icon in the political terrain where he is seeking to represent the people of Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

“Humanitarians like Dr Nwachukwu are what the society needs in politics. We need good people like him to take over political offices, and we will do all within our powers to ensure that he wins in the forthcoming election.”
