Former National Rescue Movement Candidate in the last Anambra State November 6, 2021 governorship election, Afam Ezenwafor (Affirmation) on Wednesday, joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Also some members of the party who are loyal to the governorship aspirant, friends and supporters also decamped to join APGA.
Speaking to the press at Ward II Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area where the event took place, he explained that “my decision to join APGA is informed by the similarities in philosophy and ideology between the Governor of Anambra State Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and I”.
Expatiating on the above assertion, he further explained that “I have carefully observed, followed and monitored the activities and speeches of Prof. Soludo since he was declared winner of the November 6, 2021 gubernatorial election, he has demonstrated a clear roadmap, rare courage, boldness, strong will, commitment and the readiness to reposition the state”.
It will be recalled that Afam Ezenwafor’s criticisms against the planned procurement of Prado SUVs as official vehicles for the members of the State House of Assembly by the Willie Obiano’s administration, promoted the purchase of Innoson Vehicles by the state government for its officials, traditional rulers, and security agencies in the state.
According to Hon Afam , Prof. Soludo’s resolution to adopt Innoson brand as his official vehicle is exemplary. He also noted that Prof. Soludo being “inspired by the examples of M. I. Okpara” and his charge to “leave the society better than you met it” as contained in his keynote speech delivered at the school of politics, policy and governance (SPPG) first graduation ceremony for the pioneer class of 2021 entitled “The Purpose and Price of Disruptive Change” are very instructive.
According to the leader of the Afamation Movement “all these aligned with my personal decision and our vision in the Afamation Movement. I have expressed my resolve to join hands in repositioning our dear state. What has happened here today, is witnessed across the country where many members of the Afamation Movement that have elected to join APGA after due consultations are doing so”.
