Anambra govt commences skills training for youths

No fewer than forty five youths in Anambra are currently undertaking skills acquisition training organised by the state government, as part of measures aimed at creating employment opportunities for the youths of the state.

Speaking during the kick off which was held at the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy in Awka, Monday, 19th Oct, 2020, the Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Professor Theresa Obiekezie said the programme was to fulfil government commitment towards developing young entrepreneurs in the state.

The commissioner assured that Trade Test Certificates in shoe making would be issued to participants on completion of their internship training as well as render assistance to access loans for easy take-off.
She however, advised them to take advantage of the on-going Federal Government survival fund intervention for artisans to boost their financial drive.

Director General, Digital Entrepreneurship Office, Mr. Ifeanyi Aniagor, noted that self discovery, fiscal discipline and focused business concept are critical factors needed for one to achieve success in business.
Mr. Aniagor equally tasked the trainees to work towards overcoming identified business challenges so as to attain self development, and inculcate positive values.

Meanwhile, Mr. Augustus Ezeife, Daniel Okorie, Chukwuemeka Ugwu and Chioma Ugonwa who where beneficiaries of the programme commended the state government for their efforts in job creation.
