A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 6 poll in Anambra State, Senator Andy Uba has enjoined the party to give him ticket.
He assured the party that if given the ticket, winning the governorship poll would be a walkover for the party.
Uba stated this in Awka yesterday, saying that “2007 campaign will be a child’s play, if you give me your ticket.
“I will replicate the amazing campaigns of 2007 election in the 326 wards and 21 local government areas of the state which gave me overwhelming victory during the election.
“The record has not been equaled by any governorship candidate in the state till date. I will take APC campaign for the November 6 election in the state to another level.”
The former aide to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and two terms senator, said, “I promise to surpass my unprecedented campaign of 2007 if chosen as the flag bearer of APC in this contest.”
“While my opponents in the election were satisfied with breezing visits to the metropolitan cities of Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi and a few towns, I carried my message of ‘paradigm shift’ to dusty villages and hamlets in the state.
“I will never engage in name-calling and will not spend time sulking, but I will be busy discussing issues with voters in Anambra’s 326 wards, communities and local government areas that I will personally visit.”
“I will use my experience and I will work together with my party members and the people of the state to reclaim and reactivate God’s master plan for Anambra.
Uba won the 2007 governorship poll in the state overwhelmingly, but spent only 17 days in office before the Supreme Court removed him consequent up a petition by the incumbent governor of the state then, Mr. Peter Obi, who canvassed that he had four years to stay in office commencing from the day he took oath of office.
