Anambra State government has commenced the disbursement of N2 billion loan to farmers in the state.
Handing over cheques to the beneficiaries of the state’s commercial agriculture scheme, the state governor, Willie Obiano said he felt fulfilled.

The event funded by the Central Bank of Nigeria, held at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Wednesday,
It also marked the inauguration of the 2020 dry season farming in the state.
The governor noted that this year’s inauguration came at a time the nation’s economy is sliding into another round of recession in four years.

He expressed his administration’s commitment to sustaining investment in agriculture.
According to him, the scheme is aimed at boosting agro-enterprises in the state.

Obiano, while appreciating the achievements of major agro investors who answered his call to invest at home, expressed satisfaction with the agricultural revolution in the state.

He pledged to continue to build on the solid foundation he has laid in agriculture, adding that it is evident that the state can develop new capacities and expand the frontiers of development under a determined and visionary leadership.

Also speaking, the state Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief Nnamdi Onukwuba, lauded the efforts of the governor towards achieving food security in the state through boosting agriculture.
