There was jubilation as Umuchu community in Aguata Council Area presented certificates of recognition to some of her illustrious sons for their outstanding contributions towards COVID- 19 interventions and revamping of security outfit in the community.

The recognition which was held at Umuchu Town hall, also featured unveiling of raffle draw for cultural unification of the community
The Traditional ruler of Umuchu, Igwe Godson Ezechukwu, observed that the recognition, was to appreciate the donors for contributing in advancing the course of the community.

The President- General, Umuchu Improvement Union, Engineer Emeka Ononuju, who recalled sacrifices made by the recipients, thanked those who helped in alleviating the plights of the community members, especially in cushioning the effects of COVID -19 pandemic, which brought untold hardship to families.

He explained that the donors’ positive responses and acts of charity sustained the rural dwellers and helped in reviving the security structure in the community.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman, Cultural Committee of the community, Chief Chris Ezeoguine, extolled series of measures initiated to strengthen cultural unification of Umuchu community and called on members to key into the raffle draw project to move the community forward.

Reacting on the recognition, the Director of Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), South East zone, Engineer Ben Amarube and the Umuchu Woman Leader, Lolo Chinwe Oforbike, said peace and unity remain the panacea for meaningful development in any given society while showing gratitude to the community for finding them worthy.
