The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Anambra state has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for making underground plans to maneuver the electioneering processes come November 6 election.
The Publicity Secretary, ZLP Campaign Council, Afam Dozie Ofomata disclosed this to newsmen in a press statement on Thursday.
According to the statement, “since the consolidation of the ZLP as the coalition platform of Anambra across party, religious, cultural and sectional lines, with Dr. Okonkwo as consensus candidate, the tide of the election, which is the inevitable victory of the ZLP, is clear”

“The ZLP is however aware of clandestine plots by certain unpopular parties, particularly, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the failed All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to deploy underhand tactics to manipulate the electoral process and subvert the will of the people”.
“The party has also been aware of the desperation by the APC to use external influence to coerce and compromise the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to sway the election to its favour”.
“The ZLP urged INEC to note that Anambra citizens are not ready to abandon their resolve to elect Okonkwo. They are also not ready to accept any process that is not transparent and credible or any results that do not reflect the reality on ground”.
Anambra citizens will never allow anybody to use external forces to muscle the election. “The fact is that currently, APGA and APC do not have any foothold in Anambra state and that is why they are resorting to crafty tactics and external forces to subvert the will of the people”.
“It is instructive to state that Anambra citizens know themselves in all the 326 wards across the state and will never allow stranger elements to derail the electoral process”.
The ZLP therefore called on the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to reassure Anambra electorate on the credibility of the process”.
In the face of our preordained victory, the ZLP is determined not to leave anything to chance. In this regard, the ZLP charged Anambra voters to be extra-vigilant and be ready to come out en-masse not only to vote for their next governor, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo, but also take every necessary step to defend their votes to the very end.
