African Democratic Congress (ADC) flag bearer, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, has stated that when elected the governor of Anambra state he will run an “Umunna” inclusive government in order to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services to Anambra citizens.
Nze Nwankpo made this known during the debate organized by the planning committee Summit 2021 in memory of late Chief Ikenna Ndaguba and for nurturing, nourishing the art of public speaking, with the theme “The MC and Issue-based Election Campaign in Nigeria” held Thursday in Awka the state capital.
According to him, “The problem of Anambra for over twenty years is that people buy the state government, keep in their pocket and manage it based on the principles of commercial transactions they did with us as voters and they leave us with hand full of dust”.
“To create a situation where the people of Anambra state take control of their government, we are going to do two cardinal things to guarantee that, one is to create Anambra state ministry of Umunna Affairs where every Umunna will get a sit, a voice and share in government.
My government will make sure these people are not harassed by anybody so we go into the ministry of Justice to ensure they are protected”.
“I know the roads that are bad, I know the structures that are out of place, I know state of utilities in the state and I want to sit down with these Umunna and show them their state , let us sit down in a town hall and decide the way we hold our ‘Umunna’ meeting and tell whoever that fails to hear that our ancestor has the best democracy “.
