The leader of Afamation Movement, a politically driven group that earnestly clamors for a better governance, better society and youths inclusiveness, Hon. Afam Ezenwafor has declare his intention to run for the Anambra gubernatorial election come November under the African Democratic Congress party (ADC).
The former House of Assembly candidate under All Peoples Congress (APC) Aguata constituency, was welcomed amidst cheers and triumph from groups, friends and associates many of whom, was spurred by the joy of the moment.
Declaring his intentions known to all, Afam stated that the primary essence of government is to do for the people what they cannot do for themselves. This can only be achieved through the instrumentality of good governance, which is the major gap that I have identified in the leadership of our clime.
“My decision to vie for the governorship of Anambra State is informed by the dire need to provide our people with good governance”.
Speaking shortly, ADC Party Chairman, Aguata, Hon. Okey Zoro noted that Afam has declared his intention as an aspirant under the African Democratic Congress.
“Others are coming out but he has first declared interest and for now we will give him full support. It is our duty to be prepared for the task ahead. I call on your local and party state executives to spread the news that ADC now has a governorship candidate”.
He assured that the Local Government Chairmen will meet to strategize on the way forward while calling on other party executives to represent the party interest at the zonal and state level so that at the end, ADC will clinch to victory.
Former governorship aspirant of UPP and the current state Chairman Afamation Group Movement, Mazi Obumneke Ejimnkeonye Okafor stated that this is the right time for the youths to take over the mantle of leadership in other to tackle the challenges in the state which the previous administrations have failed to do. He called on Anambra poepl to come out en-mass and lead Afam to victory to Agu Awka.
Also, former retired INEC official, and a member of the party, Mr. Oti Echezona in his solidarity message to Afam, reminded the audience that the future of the state holds more expectation for youth through job creation and strategic development while applauding the aspirant that he was better positioned to understand the demands of job creation for the teeming population.
Ekwusigo Local Government women leader, Mrs. Christiana Anakwe noted that the women fold as a matter of fact will give their full support and galvanize strategies to deliver the aspirant.
