A 6-year-old child, Master Marvelous Heness has been reunited with his parents in Umuahia, Abia State, two months after being kidnapped from their Port Harcourt residence.

The little child, who has been properly identified by her parents was handed over to her mother on Wednesday, by the the Abia State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Ukachi Amala, with a charge by the commissioner to parents and guardians to always be conscious of their children/wards.

The women affairs commissioner expressed dismay at the rising cases of abductions, child trafficking and baby factories but assured that the long arm of the law would catch up with perpetrators of the evil acts.

She commended the wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu for her war against child trafficking and related crimes, while encouraging the child’s parents to register her in a school in Abia State where he would be properly monitored.

In their appreciation, the parents of the rescued child, Mr and Mrs Heness and Amarachi Ondutimi in tears, thanked the Abia State Government and the people of Abia State for rescuing their son, whom they said, had been missing for two months.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by the permanent secretary of Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs Chinyere Nwachukwu and other top government officials.
