Anambra State Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engr Emeka Ezenwanne had in the early hours of Easter Sunday released by his abductors who attacked former CBN governor Prof. Soludo in his Isuofia during an interactive meeting with the youths.
News Echo gathered that following a serious search and manhunt of the perpetrators by security operatives led to the release of the commissioner.
Confirming the report, Police Public Relation Officer Anambra State Police Command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said: The Anambra State Police Command today 4th April, 2021, wished to confirm to the members of the Public, especially the people of Anambra the safety of Engr Emeka Ezenwanne, the State Commissioner for Public Utilities.
“The Police, Military and Other Security Agencies had mounted intense search and rescue efforts, which had closed in on his abductors, thereby forcing his release”.
“The Commissioner returned home unhurt, in the early hours of today 4th March 2021”.
However, report authoritatively gathered has it that the commissioner was freed around 1am, and he is in good health, although he denied of any ransom payment.
Meanwhile, the CP has called for calm and reiterated the Command’s commitment towards ensuring safety and security of Anambra citizens and residents alike.
