National Prosperity Movement, has stated that Nigerian presidential election come 2023 will not be fit for any persons who has attained the age of fifty years and above rather for a committed youth who is not biased of any ethnic, religious, and political sentiments.
National Coordinator of the group, Chief Jerry Uchenna Nwohu disclosed this during the group’s strategic meeting in Awka with the theme “The Nigerian Agenda: Economic Prosperity is Possible”
Chief Nwohu while expressing satisfaction over the outcome of the event, said the course of this drive is a kind of generational movement where we need a departure from the past, “if you are above 50 years don’t think about coming out to vie for the presidency in 2023. We need young elements to take charge of the country. A leader who will forget ethnic, cultural and political divides”.
He gave his assurance that the National prosperity movement will move the Nigerian agenda further, and “we trust your ability and drive and we believe to get right there, and called on all members to show solidarity and pursue the primary aim of the association”.
Speaking at the event, Director General of the Nigerian Agenda, Mallam Ahmed Sajoh explained that the agenda is about harvesting the discussions we have at the streets, at the bus stops, at beer parlours and other places converting them to the correct political action in the direction of enthroning a leadership that understands development.
Speaking on the concepts and context of the Nigerian Agenda, the strategist/consultant of the Nigerian Agenda, Mr. Julius Ogunro noted that the group has visited the three geo political zones, except the southeast and pointed out that being in the southeast is of good Nigerian agenda which is the base as key factor for development.
Also speaking, Mr. Niyi Akinsiju, Chief Advocate of Nigeria on the social and political impact of the Nigerian Agenda, disclosed that the best way is to identify a leader with quality education, credible leaders with a sense of commonality.
He suggested that we should be the ones to set agenda for those politicians irrespective of cultural or religious ties. “We need the citizens to properly appoint leaders who are going to take up these functions for Nigerian growth”.
