The presidential candidate for the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA in the forthcoming 2023 general election, Professor Peter Chukwudi Umeadi has boasted that among the various Party’s Presidential candidates jostling for the seat of Nigerian Presidency, only him through his Party if he elected has the capacity to reposition Nigeria in 4 years.
Speaking to journalists in his ancestral home, Agukwu Nri, in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, Umeadi, optimistic that he would emerge victorious through his Party in the 2023 poll.
He reiterated his readiness for the forthcoming election, revealing that he had summoned meetings of all the 36 States of APGA Chairmen in Asaba and out of the Chairmen who attended the meeting, about 3 of them could not attend but they were well represented.
According to him, the meeting which he said summoned in August 13, 2022 was to review their strength, adding that the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye equally summoned meetings for the same 36 States APGA Chairmen across the country at the APGA National Head Quarters Abuja and the message was to deliver Professor Peter Umeadi in the forthcoming election which he said since then APGA party spread throughout the country.
The former Chief Judge of Anambra state unequivocally noted that the solution of the political problems in Nigeria is by allowing President of Nigeria to appear from South East and to come from APGA party.
“In today’s politics of Nigeria, the presidency of Nigeria should come from the South East and that is where APGA is the key player. And I will take this opportunity to tell you that APGA is the only party that could reposition Nigeria because APGA represent Civil war, APGA represent Ojukwu, APGA represent the end of the war, APGA represent the Igbo man, APGA represent South East and everything inclusive in it and for you to see the way things is going in the country, the best thing is to have APGA at the helm of affairs politically in Nigeria”
The Presidential Candidate, described politics as tedious, expensive and contentious averred that he retired as a Judge and joined politics in order to contribute in his own little way to help his people, even as he penned down his mission statement Stating ” Uppermost in my mind is how to reconcile with ourselves across the length and breadth of our dear country and proceed to reposition the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 4 years after the President election of 2023.
My aspiration is predicted on popular votes at the polls from a majority of Nigerians.
Let us respect the ballots. Let us canvas and sustain free and fair elections. Let our valid votes count. Validity of votes permeate capacity to vote down to announcement of the correct results. The struggle continues”
He also declared in his manifesto that, “I want to be president of Nigeria to implement policies and not to impress anybody.
I pledge also to remove my personal interest from the picture in its entirety in the course of my official duties if elected. Nobody is perfect, but I want to be remembered as a saint when I finish “Umeadi added.
