Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has assured of massive development in all the 27 Local Government Areas of the state in the year 2021.
Uzodimma gave the assurance in his new year broadcast to Imo people.
He described 2021 as a year that holds much for the entire Imolites.
The governor enumerated some of his achievements to include; reform in the civil service, reversal of infrastructural deficit, improvement in lives of civil servants, empowerment of youths, proactive management of the Covid 19 pandemic, among others.
The governor once again accused agents of opposition political parties, corrupt public servants and some members of the leadership of the organized labour of being behind the propaganda that he has not been paying salaries, an action he said was just to discredit his administration for stopping the means of their fraudulent activities.
He disclosed that he has directed the Ministry of Information and Strategy to publish the names of over 40,000 civil/public servants and 21,000 pensioners who have been paid up to December 2020, adding that names of the few who have refused to comply with the automation process will also be published.
“We have used the outgone year to lay a solid foundation for a new Imo State, founded on our shared prosperity agenda. This year, 2021 is not only the year of promise, but that of divine accomplishments in all sectors of the state economy”, he stated.
