Special Adviser on Election Management to Governor Hope Uzodimma, Sir Martins Ejiogu (Ochendo), says the 15,000 digitally empowered youths of Imo State will boost Uzodimma’s victory at the November 11 2023 governorship election.
Ejiogu stated this in an interview with journalists in Owerri while celebrating the graduation ceremony of Cohot 2 SkillUp Imo Project, last week.
Ejiogu who remarked that the Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 SkillUp Imo Projects through which 20,000 Imo people were trained on Information Computer Technology (ICT), Innovation, Invention and empowered with HP Laptops and other things, posited that the feat was noble, a milestone he said will make the beneficiaries economically independent thereby making Imo a digital hub in South East.
Ejiogu underscores that ICT has globalized the world, brought humanity together, strengthened many economies of countries or states that invest hugely into it, attributing that the digital feat by Governor Hope Uzodimma is germane and advantageous as the economy of the state would witness astronomic rise, saying unemployment, poverty, hunger, crime, restiveness, violence will reduce drastically as youths have been productively engaged.
He stressed that “the 20,000 empowered youths on digital skills is a landmark achievement. Beneficiaries of the scheme will always have cause to smile”, lauding the Governor for introducing a weekly youth digital skills competition to stimulate digital literacy, ingenuity and innovation in the youth.
While commending the Governor for achieving great feat in ICT, Innovation and Invention, Ejiogu described him as “a digitally driven Governor who has firmly proven leadership pragmatism, political will, mettle and intellectual ability to redefine Imo State”.
Calling on the beneficiaries to harness the digital skills imbued in them to become useful and financially successful, the illustrious son of Isu LGA and a fine politician, appealed to the people of Imo State especially voters to give their second mandate to Governor Hope Uzodimma to enable him consolidate good governance in Imo State.
