Okwudor Community stands still as Elder Michael goes home

The Obioha family in Umuzuruwike Okwudor Obi-Mgbidi in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State gave their father, Elder Obioha Michael (Oboromezie ) a befitting burial recently. Late elder Michael was born100 years ago to the family of Obiakonze Obioha in Umuzuruwike Okwodor in Oru West Local Government Area.

Hon. Emeka Obioha, stated that his father died as a saint, he came from heaven and simply returned home to ‘heaven’. It was a thing of joy that father has returned to God, though it is painful that the family and friends will miss him forever. He described his father as a man who lived spiritual and social engagement.

The bereaved son stated that he would not forget father’s language in hurry, and his words of encouragement. According to him, elder Michael is a lover of peace, a man who believed in oneness and a man who called a spade a spade, he enthused. He opined that late Elder Michael Obioha is the only surviving brother of his late father who adopted him as his own son on the July 14th, 2016.

The deceased he stated transferred his right of ownership of his property both in life and death to him upon which he Hon. Emeka agreed to take care of elder Michael responsibilities in life and death.

Consequently, he gladly gave his father a befitting burial on the November 18, 2020, with large crowd including the creme de la creme in Imo state government both present and past at his Umuzuruwike Okwudor residence.

. Obioha expressed gratitude to those who made out time to be with them during the burial ceremony. Hon. Chika Ononauju (adamazi) a respectable woman from Oru West Local Government area, expressed happiness to attend the burial ceremony of late Elder Michael Obioha which she called celebration of life. She prayed that God should give the family the grace and wisdom.

Elder Michael was a man who lived exemplary life and never discriminated on religious grounds and always believed that church cannot take you to heaven rather good deeds, she said.

Mrs Nwakaego Obioha, addressed journalists that elder Michael has returned to his maker and also said that she is not surprised that elder reached hundred years because according to her, her family has a gift of reaching old age.
