The Imo State Police Command in its commitment to restore peace and stability in the state has apprehended two notorious criminals said to be operating along Isu/ Njaba Road in Njaba LGA of Imo state.
The criminals, Obiaka Uchenna 23yrs from Isiozi Umuaka and Micheal Ihunna 24 yrs from Uba Umuaka all in Isu/Njaba LGA were arrested by the police during operation stop and search tactics and were taken to the state police command.
Upon interrogation, they confessed to the crime. They further disclosed the identity of one Ozo Nwako from Isiuzo Umu Akachi, a welder who fabricates and sells the locally made pistols to aid them in robbing and terrorizing the area.
The police further besieged the house of the welder, searched his premises, arrested him and recovered a generating set which was brought to the police station. Efforts are been made by the police to further arrest other gang members still at large.
The police through a release by the Police public Relations Officer disclosed that the hoodlums will be charged to court if found guilty after a thorough investigation.
The Imo State commissioner of police, CP Rabiu Hussain while appraising the police for their gallantry and major breakthrough in the state, further urged them to engage in vigorous and aggressive patrols to fish out criminals. He also assured of the command’s effort to ensure a crime free yuletide season and charged the general public to partner with the police in community policing thereby reporting crimes in their neighborhood to the nearest police station.
