Hit and run driver kills one in  Anambra

An unidentified driver, on Wednesday evening, crushed a yet-to-be identified adult male along Ihiala Owerri road.
Eyewitness accounts has it that the man was found lying in the pool of his blood by the road side after he was run over by unidentified driver.
Confirming the accident in a statement, the State Sector Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corp FRSC, SRC Edor Florence, said the Rescue team from FRSC Ihiala Command was alerted, on getting to the scene, found the man lying in pool of his own blood, and there was nothing to identify him.

She said the man was taken to Arch Angel hospital where he was confirmed dead by the Doctor on duty, and his body has been deposited at mortuary.
And the DPO Uli police station and his men were also at the scene of the crash.

Meanwhile the Sector Commander Anambra State Command, Mr. Andrew Kumapayi, has warned drivers to avoid speeding especially in built up areas, and advised that they should use the maximum speed limit of 50km per hour.

He also warned pedestrians to be watchful when walking along the road and not be distracted, but use the safest means of crossing the road if need be.
