Reports coming from the commercial city of Onitsha has it that two suspected armed robbers who have been said to be enforcing the sit at home order in disguise was on Wednesday set on fire.

The suspected armed robbers whose identity could not be ascertained met their waterloo as they were burnt beyond recognition by Onitsha residents beside Con-oil Filling Station, along Enugu/Onitsha Express road.

According to residents who pleaded anonymity they noted that “the alleged armed robbers came on a motorcycle, robbed undisclosed amount of money, phones and other items from some Awada residents, and shot sporadically in the air to scare people before escaping, but unluckily for them, they were given a hot chase, and were captured after the MCC Junction”.

It was gathered that the angry mob immediately placed the motorcycle on top of the armed robbers and set them on fire.
However, some residents who witnessed the incident said the armed robbers were three but one escaped.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach the Anambra Police spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu for further reactions proved abortive as at time of filing this report.
