
A traditionalist and chief priest, Chief Anenechukwu Uba (Eze-Uzu Na Ichida) speaks to our correspondent, Ovat Mike on issues, ranging from insecurity, Igbo presidency, the two years Ofala of News Echo Publisher, among others. The Chief priest spoke from his country home, Ichida, in Anoacha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
What do you think will address the insecurity in Nigeria?
Igbo presidency will end agitations in the zone, adding that respective of tribe, ethnic and religious affiliation, other zones should support the choice of Igbo presidency, noting that the decision will end the country’s agitations and other socio-political issues. He expressed optimism that come 2023, Igbo man/woman taking over power from President Mohammadu Buhari is possible and feasible.
Don’t you think the Biafra agitation will affect the possibility of Igbo man being the president?
No, I don’t think so, He said any attempt to scuttle the 2023 Igbo presidential project on the altar of Biafra agitation in the region was not only devilish, but also wicked. According to him, “2023 Igbo presidency is very feasible and any attempts to derail the project anchoring it on the activities of the secessionist agitations in South-East is not only devilish, but mischievously wicked.
What if that dream doesn’t come to fruition?
“The consequences of denying the Igbo the 2023 presidency will strengthen Biafra agitations and it will sink Nigeria’s corporate existence and threaten its unity.
What is the expectations of Ndigbo?
The expectation of Igbo is to achieve the desired results of having an Igbo man succeed President Buhari in 2023. He hinted that the plan can only pull through both physical and spiritual. We want the Igbo man to feel belonged in the country. We have been denied alot of things, treated like we are not part of the country and it is not fair. Other zones should share the sentiment of Igbo man being the president of Nigeria.
How can the FG end secessionist agitation?
“The only way to end the secessionist movements and stop them from armed struggle is for the Federal Government to opt for a political solution to the problem of Biafra agitations, which Igbo presidency is one of them. A Nigerian president of Igbo extraction will end the activities of IPOB and other social disturbances in South East region.
What other efforts can be made to ensure Igbo presidency is feasible?
As as speak to you now, there are ongoing talks with the Northern Elders and the Arewa chieftains, especially the youths. We believe that the discussions through sincere engagements will change the Northern fears over 2023 Igbo presidency. I believe it will yield results.
“The major political parties are the targets for Ndigbo to achieve this project; there are backstage activities ongoing that will justify the end of the process of making Igbo realise the 2023 presidency.
What about working with other zones?
One of the practical steps to be taken seriously is the engagement of the other sections of the country especially the North. We are building up a new alliance with the North, but definitely, we will achieve this lofty position through building consensus and confidence.
I called on the Nigerian political class to close ranks and work for the realization of the Igbo presidency in 2023.
I assured you that, if the opportunity is given to Igbos, couple with their experience in all areas of human existence, the country will grow beyond expectation.
He noted that since 1999 when the country began the present democratic dispensation, the Igbos have never tasted the number one slot, therefore, it was high time the Nigerian political class allowed the slot to the South East in 2023.
He said since fairness demands that all the six geo-polical zones in Nigeria must be taken along in the governance of the country, therefore, the Igbo presidency that has never be should now be possible in 2023 general election. He, therefore, called on all Igbo politicians of note to join the two major political parties, APC and PDP so as to guarantee the success of the 2023 Igbo presidency, come February 18.

I appeal to President Mohammadu Buhari, to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, unconditionally.
Today, an illicit drug called mkpuru Mmiri has ravaged our youths, what’s your take?
On the case of Mkpurummiri, the traditional priest, regretted the negative effects of the drug on human body which can lead to madness and death.
He also advised the youths to desist from taking the substance for their own good disclosing that any youth caught in the act will be arrested and handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for prosecution.
What can you say about the two years Ofala anniversary of Ebubemba Ikeduru, Publisher of News Echo newspaper holding on the 30th December, 2021?
The chief priest boasted that the ceremony will witness very Important personalities (VIP), across the globe. I have never met with him before, but after the consultation with my gods, I was told to honour the invitation with my entourage.
It was also revealed to me that he is a nice man and that he has been helping the less privileged ones in the society, irrespective of placement. I will be there. He commended the publisher of News Echo newspaper on what he is doing with the newspaper and promised to speak about the newspaper anywhere he goes.
