Imo State Government says it is scaling up the number of Covid-19 tests conducted on its citizens.
The state’s commissioner for health, Dr. Damaris Osunkwo made this disclosure while receiving on behalf of the state government, 240 pieces of Covid-19 One Step Rapid test kits from FINLAB Nigeria limited. This is in support of efforts to contain the spread of the disease among its citizens.
She appreciated the gesture which she noted came at the right time when government was scaling up the number of testing conducted on the citizens.
Dr Osunkwo asserted that the world was presently grappling with the deadly second wave of the pandemic. Government is bent on ensuring a reduction in the number of cases by increasing the number of tests samples collected daily for investigations.
Leader of the firm delegation, Mr Osmond Ogbonna said the donation was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in favour of host communities and also part of the event marking its 40th anniversary celebration.
