The National Secretary of All Town Unions of Imo State, Chief Monday Ralph Ikeokwu, has encouraged Imo people to go to the designated health centres across the state and vaccinate themselves against Covid- 19 pandemic in order to live healthy and happy all the time.

He also advised them to always wear face mask, wash their hands with detergents, keep their environments clean and avoid much crowd to enable them prevent coronavirus and other deadly pandemics that may make them restless as health is wealth.

Ikeokwu, who is also the President-General of Ihitte-Ihube autonomous community of Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, made the call when he addressed Presidents- General of Town Unions, Women Leaders and health workers during a seminar on Covid-19 vaccination enlightenment organized by the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) held on last weekend at Anara, Isiala Mbano.

Assuring NOA and UNICEF of total compliance to the Covid-19 vaccine by the people of Ihite- Ihube, Okigwe Senatorial District and Imo State in general, Ikeokwu described the awareness campaign as timely and essential, saying it was good that state and federal governments have decided to rise to their responsibility and are doing well in curing and preventing Covid-19 pandemic which has killed many people.

He lauded NOA and UNICEF for organizing the program which he mentioned will encourage people who are afraid of, or in doubt of the efficacy of the coronsvirus vaccine even as he thanked the leaders and health workers for participating effectively in the awareness program against Covid-19.
