The Chief of Staff to the Managing Director of Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Hon. Okechukwu Igwe, has said that the 3 new brand General Hospitals built by the commission in Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru East Local Government Areas will soon be commissioned by Governor Hope Uzodimma.

He stated this while speaking during a One – Day Niger Delta Peace-Building Strategy (NDRPS) Implementation Town Hall Meeting, organized by PIND Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta Region, held in Owerri, last week.

Igwe who noted that the General Hospitals are built with state-of-the-art equipments, added that ISOPADEC built the hospitals to help the people access quality and affordable healthcare to promote their health, saying health is wealth.

Igwe hinted that the commission under the leadership of Chief Charles Orie (Akuatuegwu), has done developmental projects in many communities of Ohaji, Egbema, Oguta and Oru East, assuring that more projects are being erected and harnessed to encourage development, peace, security and good living in the oil rich region.

“ISOPADEC is building brand new General Hospitals in Ohaji, Egbema, Oguta and Oru East/LGAs. Thus, the hospitals are in the level of commissioning which will probably happen soon by Governor Hope Uzodimma. Some healthcare centres there have been rehabilitated and effort is being geared too to reconnect, install electricity and other social amenities”, Igwe maintained.

He called on the people especially youths to shun restiveness to give peace and development a chance, as ISOPADEC, government and oil companies operating in the areas meant well for them. He also disclosed that the organizers of the workshop who he told to ensure that the host communities are fully captured in the next town hall meeting involving them.
